Week One

Hello Year 2,

I hope you are all well and keeping busy at home.

I'm sure you are but just in case you need a few extras to fill your time this week I have included some activities on our class page for you.

RE

You have learned about the Eucharistic Prayer which is said by the Priest during Mass. You could draw a picture showing this part of Mass and label the bread, wine, altar and Priest. Also, if you can remember the important words spoken by the Priest at this time you could insert a speech bubble to represent these.

English

Listen to the Dragon Machine below. Now imagine you are George and write a diary extract about how troublesome the dragons have become. Be sure to include exactly what mischief and havoc those naughty dragons have been causing!

Maths

Watch the videos below and keep practising your 2, 5 and 10 timetables each day.  Also, ask your grown ups to continue to help you with learning to tell the time at home. Visit: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/teachingclock to practise.

History

We have enjoyed learning about castles so much this term and it's a shame we haven't all had a chance to finish the topic. Please watch the video below. Choose which type of castle you would prefer to have lived in; either a Motte and Bailey or a Stone Keep Castle. Write a short paragraph explaining why you would like to live there and don't forget to give reasons for your choice.

Art

Draw a picture of your favourite sculpture that we have learned about, this could be Antony Gormley's Iron Men or Taro Chiezo's Superlambananas. You can design it in your own style, using colour and crafts if you have them, making it as exciting and eye-catching as you like!

I will update this page with more work next week.

Don't forget Joe Wickes is live every weekday morning at 9 am on youtube with a daily PE lesson and David Walliams at 11 am @ https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/watch-and-listen with his wonderful stories.

Take care and I hope you enjoy these activities!
