Good Morning Year 6!
It was so lovely to see lots of you with your parents when you came to pick up your home learning packs so well done for coming to collect them. Please don't forget that that is 3 weeks worth of work so don't try to do it all in one go.
We have had some lovely weather so I hope you have been getting lots of fresh air outside and getting your daily exercise as much as you can. I think the weather is supposed to change soon so at least you will have lots of activities to keep you busy if it does!
I have given you all an exercise book for you to complete any written work into there - please use this for all subjects and keep it as neat as you can - it will be great to see all you have completed in your time away from school :)
Talk about the times you might have been in a situation when you saw something happen which was unusual, strange or even wrong and you knew you needed to tell someone. You were unsure for a number of reasons. Maybe you thought people would laugh at you, not believe you, or you might get into trouble.
Have a read of the story, 'What should Connor do?' and discuss the following questions with someone in your household:
English
As well as the tasks I have set you for English through SATs companion, I have given you a book to read with some comprehension questions to answer based on each chapter.
Here are some Power Point slides to help you understand a little bit more about the Lebanese Civil War in which the book is set. Please have a look at these before you start to read the book.
Maths
Again, I have set you some maths questions through SATs companion so do please keep checkiing on there for updates and messages.
In your home learning pack you have a set of questions which are based on areas of the maths curriculum we have already covered I will add these onto here too with the answers and support for your parents.
Geography - South America
You completed some lovely work when we studied North America and our Summer topic is South America. What can you remember about North America?
Here are some slides to support the work I have given you on our new topic. Choose a South American country, draw the flag and research more about your chosen country. How can you present this to me? You may choose to create a Powerpoint, a poster or even use the book in your pack to write about this country!
Art
The home learning pack has some work based on illusions and how to create a vanishing point in your art work so that your picture has depth. Here are the slides to support you with this work. I would love to see some of your art work uploaded onto the school blog. Good Luck!
