Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
We are delighted to be awarded the School Games Mark Gold Award for the 4th year running. Ali Watts, the School Games Organiser & Partnership Manager said, 'The opportunities provided for your children are wide ranging and it is obvious that you all believe in the wider benefits of PE and sport and go to great lengths to ensure that your offer is fully inclusive.'
We had a graded inspection in April. We have been graded as a 'Good School.' The report emphasises how welcoming and nurturing our school is. It recognises how our school provides our children with ‘strong opportunities for personal development.’ Children ‘feel safe’ and ‘live out our school’s values, including respect and kindness.’ 'Teachers have strong knowledge' and 'adapt future teaching.' In addition to this, ‘staff are proud to work at this school.’
As we were in the top 3 finalists in the School of the Year Award at Sefton's Pride of Seton Awards, we have since been featured in an article published in Stand Up for Southport. Have a read of what some of our parents have described our school as.
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School was a finalist at this year's Pride of Sefton Awards. Well done to all our team and a big thank you to the parents who nominated us.
MP Peter Dowd visited our school to learn about all the good work we are doing to improve our community. Our School Council shared how we have created an enterprise project to raise funds. Each class has created an item to sell at our chil-led Spring Fair.
We were delighted to be nominated for the Citizens 4 Good Award presented by the Mayor of Sefton. A parent nominated us for being an inclusive school and going above and beyond to support our community.

Dear Parent and Carers
The school is due to have an inspection undertaken by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate on Wednesday and Thursday 22nd & 23rd March 2023 The inspection is both a diocesan and a statutory responsibility.
In the organisation of the Church, the bishop is the ‘first teacher’ in the diocese with responsibility for the formation and education of his people, with particular responsibilities in schools. The inspectors working for the Inspectorate act on his behalf to fulfil this responsibility.
The purpose of inspection is to report to and advise the bishop on the quality of the Catholic life and mission of the school, of religious education and of collective worship. Of course, it also stands to inform parents and the wider Catholic community.
Inspectors will observe learning and acts of worship, talk to staff and pupils, analyse data, and discuss emerging issues with the school’s leadership. The inspection culminates in a written report that will be sent to you.
The view of parents is very important, and we shall be sharing with the inspectors any evidence we have of parents’ views of the school. The inspectors would also like to hear directly from you. We appreciate that we have not given you very much time, but it would be helpful if you could complete the questionnaire, which can be accessed at the following website: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ShareFormPage.aspx?id=SSQzRY2fT0OpJmB_Xy63KARXYGCWSuFNusGynRFWkvxUM01aVVdETFNZOElLUUNXUVpCUlFJNUg0Qi4u&sharetoken=HEC3Szo72I30d0MkDVuB
Responses to the questionnaire go directly to the inspectors, are anonymous and individual responses cannot be identified.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the questionnaire. We look forward to sharing the outcomes of the inspection when the report has been received.
Your truly,
Mrs J. Jenkins
