  The third week in November is Anti-bullying week. This years theme is 'All different, All equal'.

  We held an assembly lead by Miss Parker which was about being different and unique but focusing on the importance of all being treated equally. The children will be participating and completing activities about this in their classes.  

• Macmillan and Breast Cancer fund raising event

  Thank you to everyone who supported our fund raising for Macmillan Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Research yesterday and came to join us at our tea/coffee and cakes afternoon.

  We raised a fantastic £420 which will be split between the two charities.

  We have won !! Thank you to everyone who shopped in Tesco and put their blue token in Our Lady Star of the Sea box.  This grant will enable us to proceed on our 'Star Garden and Play Area'  THANK YOU.

• Tesco Bags of Help

  Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

  Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local community projects.

  Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is on one of the groups on the shortlist.

  “Star Garden and Play Area” - Parents will see we have made a start on our project and have had  some ground cleared already.

  Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.

  Please support the school on this venture by voting for Our Lady Star of the Sea School.  To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value.  You will then receive one token per transaction  and it’s not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to  receive a token.  The following stores are taking part in the voting for our project:

• New school meals menu start 26th January 2015 - 09 January 2015

  New menu's from Sefton Catering developed in conjunction with the nutritionists at the Children's Food Trust as underpinned in the legislation by The Requirements for School Food Regulations 2014.  The menu's have been developed not only to meet the new standards but also to give pupils a choice of their favorite meals.
